[Fr] Human Meeting est une rencontre. Thierry Lange-Berteaux et Mario Canonge se connaissent depuis une vingtaine d’années, se fréquentent et parfois, jouent ensemble. Pour les besoins d’un concert à Montbazon en 2022, organisé par le Jazz Club de Tours, les deux leaders étaient venus accompagnés de deux fidèles musiciens, respectivement le contrebassiste Guillaume Souriau et le saxophoniste Ricardo Izquierdo. Le résultat, fort bien enregistré, est ce Search For Peace où les quatre hommes laissent exprimer leur liberté et leur connivence sur un répertoire judicieux de standards en format long. Hors des contraintes de l’enregistrement de studio, ils nous convient à partager cette soirée haute en couleurs.

[En] Human Meeting is an encounter. Thierry Lange-Berteaux and Mario Canonge have known each other for some twenty years, and sometimes play together. For a concert in Montbazon in 2022, organized by the Jazz Club de Tours, the two leaders were accompanied by two loyal musicians, double bassist Guillaume Souriau and saxophonist Ricardo Izquierdo. The result is the particularly well-recorded Search For Peace, on which the four men express their freedom and connivance over a judicious repertoire of long-form standards. Away from the constraints of studio recording, they invite us to share this colorful evening.
